Project Description

Rheem® has put forth aggressive and innovative efforts to expand its Heat Pump Water Heater family of products. These systems are designed and meticulously crafted to provide hot water efficiently and in accordance with decarbonization and energy requirements. While newer to the U.S., this Rheem offering has been widely used in Australia's challenging environments for over a decade.

Rheem Commercial Heat Pump Water Heaters Split Systems work much like an efficient refrigerator in reverse. The heat pump extracts heat from warm air, intensifies the heat with an advanced compressor, delivers the heat to the water via a heat exchanger and exhausts the cooler air.

Since it uses warm, ambient air temperature to do the work, it is an incredibly energy efficient way to heat water. As these units use heat extracted from the air to heat water, consumers achieve sustainability goals and hot water needs without sacrificing performance.

Its super high efficiency leads to a reduced carbon footprint minimizing the impact on the environment and positively contributing to regional decarbonization goals. Rheem’s reliable, proven and efficient systems have key features like a super high efficiency of up to 4.0 Coefficient of Performance and the units use less energy than electric, natural gas or propane water heaters.

These commercial systems are built specifically for large scale commercial applications where a large amount of potable water is needed at usable temperatures. Since the units improve building ratings and are environmentally friendly, the systems are an ideal option for green building programs and achieving LEED certification.

Also, the system’s purposeful design, with flexible installation options, features exceptional durability with high quality components like epoxy-coated evaporator coils providing protection in harsh, corrosive environments. Rheem has led the way with Heat Pump Water Heating technology from the start. Dedication to continuous innovation has helped Rheem stay ahead of the competition in one of the industry's most efficient categories -- water heaters. These systems meet requirements set forth in legislative bills SB 350, AB 758, SB 1477, AB 3232 and are intended to continue to lead the heat pump industry while providing the ideal water heating for more buildings.
