Project Description

The new industry standard: revolutionising the delivery of systematic medications through the lungs.

A unique and proven drug delivery platform currently in production for the US regulated market with delivery planned for Q3 2018. Patient friendly and easy to use, the breath operated inhaler is underpinned by over 330 granted patents and design rights worldwide. A next generation technology to deliver fast acting, effective and reliable treatments.

The key feature that differentiates the SiDDTM inhaler is its unique breath operated valve technology. The inhaler is activated by the user generating a pressure differential between the Upper and Lower Air Chambers within the inhaler as they breathe through it. Air is drawn through side inlets into the Upper Air Chamber and out through the mouthpiece outlets. The resultant pressure drop within the Lower Air Chamber causes the Vane & Diaphragm between the two chambers to rotate down, the Vane Tooth to lift, and the pressurised formulation to be released from the Internal Reservoir. Drug formulation passes through the Sealing Tube before it joins the air being drawn into the patients lungs. The precise profile of the Sealing Tube creates turbulent flow, aerosolization and formulation with optimal characteristics for effective drug delivery. This finely tuned system results in drug particles of the ideal size being delivered at the optimal time directly into the laminar flow being drawn into the users lungs.
