With the booming of the car-hailing apps like UBER, LYFT, ARRO, and CURB, there are more and more people driving full-time or part-time for a living. While the focus is always on the safety and security of the passengers, not much was done to safeguard the driver's well-being. The Innotek M14 cloud-based camera is designed to protect both the driver and the passengers. The camera is equipped with an ultra-wide angle lens and a highly sensitive infrared sensor array to capture video and images effectively in a deficient light environment. It is especially essential for the night shift drivers who are more prone to crime. The video data is captured and stream to the cloud. Nothing is stored locally on an SD card like most of the car camera. The video footage can be retrieved from the cloud, even if the camera is vandalized or destroyed.
The industrial design team of Bluemap Design works closely with Innotek's electronic hardware development team to create the M14 cloud camera. As part of the Innotek's cloud-based security products. We developed a clean product form language with a small footprint to minimize the driver's view obstruction. There are many car cameras available in the market, but very few are designed to meet the demanding commercial vehicles operation environment. The focus was on robustness and usability. The camera housing is made of durable, polycarbonate plastic that is tough and impact resistant. The bracket is made of glass-filled nylon plastic that is super strong and has continuous tilt angle adjustment for best-capturing view. The cloud camera is designed as commercial equipment with an appeal of a consumer product.
