Project Description

Even before the coronavirus pandemic, the US was generating an estimated 82.2 million tons of packaging and containers annually according to the EPA.

Along with all the other challenges created by the pandemic, the use of styrofoam and single use carryout boxes has skyrocketed creating an added burden in the collection and disposal of food packaging waste.

Reusable to-go containers are a simple solution that can alleviate this increase in waste. While not the first reusable to-go container on the market, MyGo Containers™ focus on functionality to create a better experience through better design.

Research uncovered that mess free transport and keeping foods separated are top concerns when getting meals for carryout. MyGo Containers™ are thoughtfully designed, high-performance, reusable to-go containers that address the end-user concerns and reduce food packaging waste to lessen the environmental impact caused by the increase in to-go meals.

By providing the end user with a better experience, using MyGo Containers™ promotes sustainability without sacrifices.

MyGo Containers™ are set apart from other reusable solutions by their attractive aesthetic and functional design.

The purpose of a to-go container is transporting a meal from where it is prepared to where it will be consumed, typically within a timespan that is less than a half hour.

Beyond transportation, a good user experience includes having the meal arrive intact and to be as appetizing as it would be if dining in.

The end user wants a container that does not open or leak during transport and for menu items to stay separated and fresh. MyGo Containers™ address both these issues by incorporating a soft plastic gasket to the lid, which is exclusive to the line.

The gasketed lid creates a leak-resistant seal and is further secured with three hinged, snap-tight tabs to keep containers tightly closed in transit.

Additionally, on the 3-compartment and divided containers, the interior dividers are full height to the lid meeting up with the gasket.

Because the Interior compartments are sealed off, entrees and sides stay separated, even sauces and dressings.

The gasket design delivers on the goal that meals are appetizing and messfree from the time they are prepped to the time they are served for a better dining experience.

MyGo Containers™ are made to be used again and again. They are constructed of highly durable, 100% BPA free polypropylene, the containers are safe for reheating foods in a microwave and will easily last over 1000 cycles in a commercial dish washing machine.

Their featured softly curved edges and radiused corners makes MyGo Containers™ are comfortable to carry.

They are designed to showcase meals with a translucent shell and contrasting colored gasket whose color can also be customized to match a school’s colors or a restaurant’s branding.

The product line includes seven different models and a MyGo™ collection receptacle where end users deposit soiled containers for collection when being used as part of a commercial or institutional reuse program.

Once collected, the containers are washed and reused again and again. MyGo Containers™ are currently in use in university campus dining operations and institutional meal service programs.
