A single piece of curved wood is used from the back to the elbows for a unique design that presents a high-quality space. With the theme of "a chair that seemed unlikely to exist," the designers aimed to create a product that embodies both the old and the modern. As for things that have been for a long time, they were interested in the "Kwan Yi," a chair from the Ming Dynasty in China, in the context of global design trends.
The chair, which only highly skilled artisans could produce, was designed using modern technology and materials and with the market in mind. By taking advantage of the uniqueness of the traditional, beautiful form and the flowing bentwood arm, the chair has a sense of presence. The design is minimal and contemporary. It is a chair that can harmonize with a wide range of spaces and produce a high-quality atmosphere. This chair is manufactured in Udine, a furniture production area in northern Italy.
It was started on the premise that it would be produced in a factory specializing in bending. The designers aimed to create a beautiful chair from any angle by seamlessly connecting the parts such as the seat, elbows, and back, minimizing the number of components used in a simple design, making it lightweight and sufficiently durable. The chair is made of molded plywood from the back to the seat. To highlight the silhouette of the bend when the chair is viewed from the backside, the Nuki that supports the seat is placed in a position not easily seen, resulting in a clean design that gives the impression of floating. The chair's back is designed to support correct posture without too much inclination for use in dining rooms and restaurants.
