KUK is a new way of thinking and planning the kitchen space. The modular system, inspired by furniture pieces, is conceived to reinterpret the ritual of cooking. Α high design product that is easy to assemble and install.
Designed to look and feel like furniture pieces, the free-standing units that compose the KUK system dilute the limits of the kitchen. The light elements give the idea of a truly flexible and integrated space; now the kitchen is a place that transcends the task of cooking, and becomes a place to gather, to celebrate, to have a business meeting, to recreate or rest.
The system has been designed and engineered to allow the user to configure a fully functional kitchen. Ergonomics and a careful selection of materials are added to achieve a timeless, high-performance product that is easy to empathize with. The selection includes birch plywood panels, melamine-faced wooden based panels, sintered stone and steel, combined to ensure the best performance.
Α sequence of boxes align inside a plywood case that wraps around them. The inside 60 χ 60 cm modules are built in melamine-faced high density MDP for resistance and hygiene, while the outside uses plywood to offer a smooth visual look without compromising strength and resistance.
The selected plywood is also an excellent base material for lacquering and wood staining; this allows not only color customization, but the application of the most fitting finish for intensive use. ΑΙΙ wooden derived materials are PEFC or FSC certified; finishes are water based, ensuring VOCs emissions during application and lifespan of the product.
The manufacturing process combines contemporary production and craft processes, to bring into the product the best of both worlds. While high precision tools are used in order to achieve perfect fit of the main structure; craftsmanship is put into final details and finishes to deliver crafted furniture looking pieces.
