Growing up in the care of my grandmother, I developed an unusual fascination with watches. The memory of her diligently winding her man's Rado watch, which I assumed belonged to my late grandfather, remains etched in my mind. Each day, she would wind it while imparting a simple yet profound lesson:
"You have to feed it to make it come alive."
This notion of giving life into a mechanical object captivated me and transformed my perception of watches into living entities. Thus began my lifelong obsession with the captivating realm of timepieces.
Inspired by the iconic case shape of the 1970s, Fleux aims to blend classic elements with modern updates. The lugs of the skin divers have been meticulously designed to embrace the wrist, ensuring a comfortable fit. In order to strike a balance between a tool and dress watch, the designers thinned the lugs while applying delicate polished chamfers, granting the timepieces a versatility that transcends occasions.
The friction coin edge bezel adds an extra touch of elegance, enhancing the premium feel of these exceptional timepieces. The team devoted special attention to ensuring a buttery smooth rotation of the bezel, while maintaining the utmost precision and security.
Every model in the collection showcases a unique solid stainless-steel bezel insert with a glossy black finish, exuding sophistication, and refinement. The FLX001 features a countdown bezel, a practical tool that allows divers to easily monitor their remaining dive time with precision and confidence. On the other hand, the FLX002 embraces a modern sterile bezel, first developed when modern rebreathers could provide dive times of over one hour.
The dials of the skin divers pay homage to the iconic design of dive watches. The FLX001 features dotted hour markers arranged in a novel asymmetrical pattern that evokes a sense of dynamic energy and excitement. Meanwhile, the FLX002 boasts a classic "California dial" design, known for its exceptional visibility and foolproof legibility.
